It was intended to be made into an animated film, but this did not happen. In 1943, he wrote his first children’s book called The Gremlins.

Born in 1916, his birthday, the 13th September is now celebrated as Roald Dahl Day. Roald Dahl was born in Wales to Norwegian parents. As part of our studies, we have watched many of the dads after reading the books. Many of his books have also have great success on the big screen as well, the BFG one of the latest ones. We have read nearly all of the children’s books as well as a couple of the non-fiction books. Roald Dahl is one of the most famous children’s writer, publishing many children’s books, including poetry ones. Our boys have now read these books multiple times and we have enjoyed incorporating some Roald Dahl Educational Resources and Activities into our homeschool. Originally, we were borrowing them from the library, but since the boys loved them so much, we have been slowly purchasing them, many second hand. We have read, and enjoyed nearly all of Roald Dahl’s children’s books.
